The Saginaw-Tuscola MCA is proud to have an American College of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredited EMS Fellowship program. Our affiliation with Central Michigan University College of Medicine, our hospitals, residency programs, and EMS agencies make this a unique opportunity for a graduate physician to gain experience in the subspecialty of Emergency Medical Services
The EMS Fellowship is a one-year post-graduate curriculum designed to provide education and expertise in pre-hospital emergency medical systems. The Fellow participates in the day-to-day operation of the Medical Control Authority and essentially acts as an Assistant Medical Director. Emphasis in this program is placed on providing effective on-scene medical direction to the pre-hospital providers in the system. Additional opportunities include; tactical EMS, dive team, disaster medicine, air medical, fire suppression, and more.
Once the EMS Fellow completes this program, they are eligible to become Board certified in EMS through the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM).
